What makes me love this so much more than I did from the moment I saw it was that you took twenty hours to simply cut it. The amount of effort you put into your work is so admirable and it definitely shows because it is absolutely amazing. I'm forever in love with your art.

It is very labor intensive that's for sure, but it is relaxing at the same time to focus on something as simple as just cutting for some time. I appreciate the compliment, it makes my time spent on it feel more worth while!

If you get the chance to use a laser cutter, getting a repeating pattern like the background would be very easy to laser cut. I stretch out adhesive shelf liner paper on cardboard and use the settings to laser cut paper. I hand cut with a rubber cushion grip Xacto for more organic forms; try one, they are a lot better to use. :) [link]

Usually there's just like a ton of crap that gets a DD in my opinion, but this is just so awesome. Kudos for being incredibly talented and imaginative.

I really like this work because it has the right balance of simplicity and complexity to make it appealing, the colour scheme works really well together, the layers describe his fur and mane beautifully, and the background is a good contrast. I also really enjoyed watching the video, it's always interesting to see how an artist works. A well deserved DD!

I would never be able to do the cutting, I would screw it up the moment I start. What kind of paper do you use, it's thick? :)
You're welcome and congratulations with the DD :D

I use 80lb. card stock paper. It's thick enough to hold up to spray paint but thin enough to cut through in one pass. It doesn't last as long as I would like though. I need to try mylar...
